SDJF Domestic Violence Center will promote community eventS in low moderate income neighborhoods.
SDJF Domestic Violence will be serving as an outlet for the survivors groups’ discussion and empowering women workshops. Assisting families of loss victims to regain hope and healing as we remember and model their loved ones loss to help others get out of destructive relationships. So they can help speak out on the concerns of domestic violence especially in the African-American communities.
HOST ON SITE TRAINING: 1. Teen education and awareness events 2. Peer community outreach 3. Peer advocacy 4. Interactive role play for prevention 5. Peer to peers education and training 6. Elementary and secondary training prevention through peer outreach 7. Peer to peers training in African American churches that serve targeted population. 8. Survivors empowering workshops and group discussions 9. Loss Victims services for healing and remembrance discussion groups and workshops 10. Open to the Public 12 hours intervention and prevention training
SDJF Domestic Violence Center and conduct workshops to educate and train and develop peers self-esteem in teens and tweens. The center will address the problem above by providing a place for people to receive free trainings, become educated about the signs and risk of domestic violence and abuse, and to learn peer to peer intervention and prevention methods.
SDJF TRAINING EDUCATION AND OUTREACH OBJECTIVES ARE AS FOLLOWS:
BECOME A VOLUNTEER: SDJF Domestic ViolenceCenter will use volunteers to help with research, grant-finding, grant-writing, sending out emails, responding to emails, assisting at workshops and community awareness events, and getting in contact with families of lost victims. Our volunteers are college students, high school students, community organizers, survivors of domestic violence, and other community organizations and leaders.
