The community-based events will provide us with an opportunity to speak out and raise public awareness about the epidemic of violence in our community. All proceeds from the events will be granted to the Foundation who is committed to providing enhanced services for women and families exposed to domestic violence.

Women Empowering Young Women Workshop
“Be Lifted, Be Inspired, Be Empowered”

This workshop will meet every Thursday 6-8pm here, at the SDJF Domestic Violence Center. This is a group discussion for Women & Girls only. Coordinated by Arleen Westmoreland

Friday, February 26, 2010 and every 2nd and 4th Friday in March
Teens and Dating Violence Workshop
This workshop will meet every 2nd and 4th Friday  6-8pm here, at the SDJF Domestic Violence Center. This is a group discussion for male and female teens ages 13-17 ONLY.. Coordinated by Torri Johnson.

Saving The Lives of Women, One Life at a Time
Training Workshop

Class IV Training will meet on Tuesdays 6-9pm here, at our SDJF Domestic Violence Center. For volunteers, advocates and persons who think they know someone who is in a DV relationship. Participants will learn how to help and reach out to their friends, loved ones, students, etc. There is a $20 one-time fee for training material. This is a 12-hour training and requires commitment. V-Day is a global movement to stop violence against women and girls. V-Day is a catalyst that promotes creative events to increase awareness, raise money and revitalize the spirit of existing anti-violence organizations. V-Day generates broader attention for the fight to stop violence against women and girls, including rape, battery, incest, female genital mutilation (FGM) and sexual slavery. Through V-Day campaigns, local volunteers and college students produce annual benefit performances of The Vagina Monologues and A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant and A Prayer

In Celebration of the late Sherri Jackson's 31st Birthday and other Victims of Domestic Violence

The committees for the 2010 Stop The Violence Community Cookout will meet every Monday at 6:30pm until the day of the cookout which is Saturday April 3, 2010.

The Foundation' will be participating at this event. This fair is offering alternatives and resources to high school students after graduation. 3RD ANNUAL CANDLE LIGHT VIGIL

We recovered the remains of Sherri Denese Jackson on June 26, 2008. It was on this day, the Foundation was founded. Time and Place of the Vigil is TBA.
